This introduction may be fairly simple if all I were to say is that I am a photographer. I believe that when we look at each other's works, it portrays only a slight truth of who we are. So to leave a piece of history for the world to see, I'll spill the beans on who I am behind the camera.
I won't bore you with who I was before, but I'm currently stationed up in the Hampton Roads area, here in Virginia. The area itself covers seven cities, that if condensed, supposedly exceeds the population of New York City. With the population that grand, and the geographical space as big and diverse as it is, you can imagine that the possibilities for "great photography" is easily accessible. Maybe that's true, but the truth of it is that Hampton Roads is very similar to most suburban areas in America. Thankfully, if you're even remotely active in the photography community, you'll find plenty of amazing artists from this area that well exceed my capability. However, I can't say that my creative drive in fueled by skill or intuition. I've been dealing with mental health for quite some time, and photography is the best way for me to get outside, have some alone time, and express some part of myself that I wouldn't normally be able to in words. You'll see bright colors, black and white, cityscapes and Appalachian forests in my work. I try to use those opportunities to shed off those troubles through each photo in some capacity, and I'm grateful that we have so many platforms to express in.
